Robert C. Hutchens 79, of Mountville, died February 24. Son of the late Charles and Beatrice Hutchens of Santa Monica, CA, he was a graduate of the University of Oregon.
An accountant, Bob worked for several businesses before retiring from Lancaster Meals on Wheels. He volunteered at Lancaster General Hospital and pursued his interest in the Civil War, ceramics and stained glass. He liked to travel to Disney World and Williamsburg. He loved animals and had several dogs including one who traveled with him from CA to PA and lived to be 21 yrs. old. He also collected teddy bears and was an avid reader.
Until his illness, he was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ and involved with the Lakota Program of the Penn Central Conference.
He is survived by his wife, the Rev. Mary Hutchens and step-children, Ed and Amy Wenck, Indianapolis; Eric and Rachel Wenck of Monkton, MD: grandchildren , Oliver, Abigail, Carl and Samuel. Also brothers and sisters in-law, Samuel and Marian Long, Martha and Guy Wenck and Jacob and Carol Long.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in Salem U.C.C., Rohrerstown, 2312 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Rohrerstown Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery
