Robert E. Skinner, 82, of Lancaster, passed away June 26 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. He was surrounded by loved ones after suffering a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born in Boston, MA on March 1, 1928. In 1946, Bob joined the US Coast Guard, where he was trained as an electronics specialist. Bob worked for Schick Service Inc. for 30 years in sales and retired as General Sales Manager. He later founded Ultraflex Shaving Systems.
Bob and his wife, Jill (McNulty), moved to Lancaster in 1975. He was a member of the St. John Neumann Parish for more than 30 years.
Some of his favorite days were spent sailing the Chesapeake Bay with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Judy Skinner, Fairfax, Virginia; Liz, wife of Matthew Grandonico, Kensington, Maryland; and Mary, wife of Robert Mazzuca; and four grandchildren, Francesca and Sofia Grandonico, Emily and Andrew Mazzuca.
Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Skip” Skinner.
Bob’s family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care he was given by the staff at the Adult Day Center of Lancaster Regional Hospital.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Michael J. Culkin as celebrant. Final commendation and farewell will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, on Wednesday, June 30th at 1:30 p.m. with military honors. Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, June 29th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Christian Prayer Service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
