Robert G. Kleinstuber, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of the late Fern E. (Kissinger) Kleinstuber who passed away in 1998. Formerly, he was married to the late June (Ferry) Kleinstuber until their divorce in 1959.
Born in Port Jervis, NY he was the son of the late John E. and Ethel (Hoare) Kleinstuber.
He proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during the Second World War. He spent most of his career as a switching equipment technician for Bell Telephone.
Bob was an avid storyteller who could entertain for hours with his numerous anecdotes. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. Later in life, his interests turned toward collecting coins, watching old movies, working in his garden, and collecting rifles and handguns. He was a competitive target shooter, winning many awards for his superlative marksmanship. A devoted animal lover, he contributed much towards their care and humane treatment. He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing things around his home.
He was a proud member of the Red Rose Pistol League and the Southern Lancaster County Farmer Sportsmen’s Association.
Surviving are his three daughters, Lynn Fleming (wife of Horace “Lee”) and Gale Chevalier (wife of Mark) – both born of June Kleinstuber, and Ellen Kleinstuber – born of Fern Kleinstuber; grandchildren, Brian (husband of Sherissa), Michelle, Donovan (husband of Tricia), Lindsay (wife of Brandon), and Mallory; and great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Connor, Jasmyn, Devon, Ava, and Brom. Also Surviving are a step-daughter, Deborah Massion (wife of Harold) and three step-sons, Stephen, Douglas, and Kenneth Whiskeyman, Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Private entombment in Conestoga Memorial Park Shrine of Memories.
