Robert O. Moyer
Robert O. Moyer, 92, formerly of Seitz Drive, Lancaster, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Manor Care of Lancaster.
He was married 51 years to the late Virginia A. Haas Moyer, who passed away in 2013. Born in Hamburg, Berks County, he was the son of the late Robert C. Moyer and Katie Elizabeth Moyer.
Bob attended Hamburg High School before enlisting in the United States Army Air Force where he honorably served as a pilot in World War II. Following his time in the service, he was employed at the Fairmount Foundry in Hamburg, PA.
Bob also spent many hours volunteering as a loyal member of the Manor Ridge Lions Club, where he served several terms as Past President Presiding.
Surviving are two children; Robert David Moyer, of Bartlet, TN; Anne Marie (Moyer) Warner, of Prairie, TX; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and a brother, Paul, husband of Esther Moyer, of Hamburg, PA.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to the Manor Ridge Lions Club, (attention Louis Danese) 1413 Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603-2431.
