Robert M. Rushemeza

Robert M. Rushemeza, 29, of Lancaster, PA passed away in his home on January 22, 2025. Born in Kigali, Rwanda, he was the son of Thomas and Niyogere (Asteria) Rushemeza.

He graduated from McCaskey High School, class of 2013, and Millersville University, class of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Engineering. He spent much of his professional career as an engineering technician and software programmer working for various industrial companies.

Robert found joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially with his nieces and nephews. He loved being active; he played football and ran track in his high school years and kept active through basketball and tennis with friends in his adult years. Robert also immensely enjoyed traveling with friends and accepted everything wonderful that life had to offer with open arms and a bright smile. 

Robert will be lovingly remembered his father, Thomas; his brothers and sisters, John, Mary, Joseph, Diana, and Patrick; his nieces and nephews, Layla, Tiya, Talia, Sofia, Musa, and Josiah as well his friends and numerous other relatives. Robert left a lasting impact on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, even if just for a moment. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend with a laugh that filled every room he was in.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service with the interment to follow in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
