Roberta W. Nelson, 93, a lifelong resident of Bainbridge, PA, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Rheems Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Bainbridge, she was the daughter of the late Ethel Wile. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Nelson who died in 1977.
Roberta graduated from the former Maytown High School and attended the Lancaster Business School. Mrs. Nelson spent 40 years working in civil service for the U.S. Army retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Bainbridge and enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and canning and attending the Gretna Theater.
Surviving is a daughter, Pennie Jo wife of Calvin K. “Jerry” Flury, Jr. of Lancaster.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 106 North 2nd Street, Bainbridge, PA, with the Rev. Emily E. Styer officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Bainbridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
