Ronald D. Woomer

Ronald D. Woomer, 74, of Lancaster, PA passed away with his family surrounding him on Thursday, April 21st, 2011.

Born in Hegins, PA, and son of Clarence and Annie (Dietrich) Woomer, he moved to Lancaster and worked for AMP, Incorporated until his retirement in 1997.

A devoted, kind and generous father and doting grandfather, Ron was loved by many.  He enjoyed the great outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman, a former Boy Scout Leader, and baseball coach. He had many hobbies, including photography, firearms, science, and coin collecting.  An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Phillies, Flyers and Hershey Bears. Ron had a great sense of humor, and loved animals.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Lynne (Wrigley) Woomer, and is survived by his son, Ronald L. Woomer, daughter Teri, wife of Scott Charney, four grandchildren, Jimmy and Becca Woomer,  Lucas and Tanner Charney, and his longtime companion, Ardella Bixler.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27th at Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster.  All are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10:00 AM.
