Ronald E. Hill, Sr, 86, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Dec. 31, 2011 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York, PA. He was the husband of Grace (Gilbert) Hill of Hellam, PA. They were married for 63 years.
Born on December 13, 1925, in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late John F. and Margaret (Butler) Hill. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hellam, PA. Ronald was a veteran of the US Navy, serving aboard the US Johnnie Hutchins during World War II. He was a carpenter after the war for many years. Ronald continued to enjoy woodworking after his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Grace, he is survived by two children; Barbara Hill of Millersville, PA and Ronald E. Hill, Jr. and wife, Polly of Hellam, PA; two grandchildren Jacqueline and Bradley Hill of Hellam, PA and a sister Betty Harsh, wife of Roy Harsh of Lancaster.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral from Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster, PA
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Faith UM Church, 126 E Market St., Hellam, PA 17406-1104.
