Roy W. Mowery, Jr.
Roy W. Mowery, Jr., 77, of Lancaster, passed away on February 17, 2017. He was the loving husband of Wanda (Shoffstall) Mowery. Born in Lancaster, PA., he was the son of the late Roy W. Mowery, Sr. and Alice (Lare) Mowery.
After graduating high school, he spent much of his career with PP&L Corporation.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball/baseball, and bowling. He was the President for 25 years of the Lancaster YABA and was a member of the Lancaster Bowling Hall of Fame.
In addition to his wife Wanda, he is survived by a son, William Mowery (companion of Karen) and by a daughter Cindy M. Roberts (wife of Harry). Also surviving are two grandchildren and several nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice A. Dougherty and by a brother, Robert A. Mowery.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice & Community Care.
