Ruby D. Bauder, 93, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, September 21, 2014.
She was the wife of the late Earl S. “Whitey” Bauder, Jr. who died in 2010. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Marshall L. and Ethel Minnich Detwiler.
Ruby graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in the mid 1939 class. She had been employed as a legal secretary for many years, while providing a loving home for her family. She was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she faithfully served on the Altar Guild for many years. She was a member of James Buchanan Chapter #315 Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, needlework, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family. She was proud of tending to her yard, especially the azaleas. She and her husband received an award in 2007 from Lancaster Township for the beautification of the neighborhood.
Surviving is a son, Barry, husband of Doris Bauder of Ellicott City, MD; a daughter, Kathleen, wife of Richard Amour of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Brian, husband of Rachel Bauder, Richard, husband of Christine Amour, Chad Amour and Andrea Amour. She was preceded in death by brothers Warren and Marshall Detwiler.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. David D. Kreider officiating. Friends may call at the church

10:00 A.M.
until the time of the service. Private interment at the convenience of the family will be held at the Landisville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
