Rudolph “Rudy” F. Soderholm, 93, of Luther Acres, Lititz, PA died on May 1, 2014 at Luther Acres after a lengthy illness.
Born in Malmo, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Fred David and Alma Bostrom Soderholm. He was the husband of Jean Scott Soderholm with whom he celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in February.
Mr. Soderholm was retired from a lifetime career in United States Army, attaining the rank of Major. Following his retirement, he was employed by the Federal Government in a variety of positions while living in Fairborn, OH.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Joy and Abraham C. Treichler Lodge No. 682 F & AM.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Soderholm is survived by a niece, Nancy Danskin of California, and a nephew, Fred Morris of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffery Soderholm and his sisters, Mabel, Lucile, Helen and Betty.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral in the Chapel of the Good Samaritan of Luther Acres, 400 St. Luke Dr., Lititz, PA, 17543 on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Martine and Chaplain Walter Kleckley officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Rd., Harrisburg, PA, 17109 on Tuesday, May 6
