Ruth “Cuca” Ederma Alvelo, 64, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on July 18, 2023 at home surrounded by members of her loving family. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Jose E. and Sara (Morales) Alvelo; raised by her step father, Donato Cabrera.
She loved dancing, spending time with her family and friends and always had a smile. In her spare time, she enjoyed many sports and games from cards to dominoes and everything in between. She was very competitive and took any game to another level. Her all-time favorite was Billiards. She loved the game of pool. She had played in many leagues throughout the years but was last part of the Rainmakers Association Pool League. She also played for the Picapiedras softball team and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
She is survived by her companion, William Wilson; a daughter, Wanda Santana; a son, Allen Mobley Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Rafael “Chino” Conde Jr, fiancé Delilah; Jonathan Cruz; Allennay Mobley; Allen Mobley Jr; Malanie Santana and Harmony Santana; 3 great grandchildren, Dominic Cruz, Mele Cooper and Masai Cooper.
She is also survived by 7 sisters, Elizabeth Rodriguez, married to Jose; Wanda Brenner, married to Mike; Lillian Abrante, Linda Albelo, Michelle Miranda, married to Miguel; Anna Cabrera Saez, married to Angel and Rosalina Cabrera, married to Larry; and 4 brothers, Jose Alvelo (Quique), married to Nancy; Oswaldo Cabrera, Joel Cabrera, married to Sandra, Tito Cabrera and 33 nieces and nephews. Proceded in death of 3 brothers; David Cabrera (Majestic), Jose E. Alvelo Jr. (Papito) and Donato Cabrera Jr. (Dee).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602 on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 between 11am-1pm followed by a service from 1pm-2pm.
