Ruth Humphreville

On Friday, October 15, Ruth Humphreville died peacefully at Willow Valley. She was 85 yrs. old. Ruth was the daughter of the late Kelly and Charles “Rosey” Stoy of Lancaster. She graduated from McCaskey High School and Elizabethtown College with a degree in music education. Ruth played an active role in music as a singer and vocal director. A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, she was an enthusiastic member of the choir. Ruth also was an avid supporter and played an active role in the Musical Arts Society where she was past president. She most recently directed the Grandview Heights Singers. Ruth will best be remembered by her family whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Robert Humphreville; a son, Scott; a sister, Patricia. She is survived by a daughter and three sons: Carol (Pete) Bambey of Ohio; Mike (Joyce) of Ohio; Thomas (Lynda) of California; David (Amy) of Lampeter. She had 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held from the First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM. The family will visit with friends following the service. Kindly omit flowers.
