Ruth S. Boettner, 95, formerly of Manor Twp., died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Calvary Homes.
She was the wife of the late Kermit N. Boettner who died in 2000. Born in Landisville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob S. and Fannie Summy Spangler.
Ruth was a homemaker and earlier in life had worked for UGI and the former Valley Frock Garments.
She was a member of Calvary Church since 1943. Ruth enjoyed gardening and hosting missionaries, family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Tim husband of Kristin Boettner of Peach Bottom; a daughter, Elizabeth wife of Peter O’Donoghue of Mountville; two grandchildren, Jake husband of Alyssa Boettner of Conestoga, and Emmet Boettner of Peach Bottom. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Jacob S., Paul S. and Roy S. Spangler.
The family would like to thank the staff of Calvary Homes for the loving care they have provided to Ruth over the last 25 years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Dr. Eric Crichton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Mt. Eden Lutheran Church Cemetery, Quarryville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Calvary Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
