Ruth White Eckman, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on April 3, 2019 at Maple Farms. She was the loving wife of Paul E. Eckman who passed away in 2017.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Florence White. She was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey and was employed by Watt & Shand and Central Market.
Ruth was a member of Calvary Church, was a voracious reader, loved to cook, bake, and decorate, but most importantly, was a loving Mom to everyone.
She is survived by a son, Rev. James Eckman (husband of Margaret) of Omaha, NE; daughters, Susie Smith (wife of Mark) of O’Fallon, MO; and Deborah Neff (wife of Tom) of Lancaster, PA; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Tom White of NV, and Paul White of Lancaster, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, a son, Robert Eckman, and a brother, James White.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel. A viewing will be held in the parlor of the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
