Sarah “Sally” Sites

Sarah “Sally” Sites, 78, of Ephrata, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 8, 2015. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loved ones in prayer.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Elwood W. and Frances Bursk Swift.

A graduate of Hood College, Sally received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1958, and served her American Dietetic Association Internship at Walter Reed Medical Center in 1959.  In 1972, she received her Master of Science Degree in Institution Administration from University of Maryland.

She served in the USA Medical Service Corps, earning a rank of 1

st

Lieutenant on August 18, 1960.

Sally was employed by Ephrata Hospital for 23 years as the Department Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and was active in the Stephens Ministry Program. Sally had a strong love and appreciation of music, and deeply cherished the time she spent with her family.

Her survivors include: son, Edwin Anthony Sites of Jessup, MD; son, Peter Winston, husband of Lisa Sites of Fleming Island, FL; Christopher William Sites of San Diego, CA; and daughter, Frances Elizabeth, wife of Philip Perrino of Wallingford, CT; best friend and housemate, Joyce Scheidegger; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  She was predeceased by her sister, Alice Frances (Nancy) Gendell.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral in First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Streets, Lancaster, PA on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Kerry L. Leeper and the Rev. Joseph F. DiPaolo officiating.  Friends may call at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park, S. Duke St, Lancaster, PA on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
