Shirley M. Bear

Shirley M. Bear, 88 of Lancaster, PA passed away at Homestead Village on July 6, 2016.  Born in Edgemere, MD she was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Josephine Vinson Foulke.  She was the wife of the late Frank R. Bear who died in 1969.

Shirley was a long-time member of Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ where she enjoyed volunteering.

A graduate ­of Sparrows Point High School, she worked for over 20 years as an administrative assistant at Millersville University, retiring in 1991.

She was an avid reader, loved the beach, eating crabs and traveling.  She enjoyed her family–especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children:  Nancy, wife of William Harris of Simla, CO; F. Raymond, husband of Constance Bear of Millersville and Laura, wife of Patrick Kline also of Millersville; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Ditlow of Willow Street, PA. She was predeceased by her sister Iris Agee.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service at Church of the Apostles U.C.C., 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating.   The family will greet friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in private in Paradise Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Paradise, PA.
