Shirley M. (Seace) Swartz went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2013. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 6, 1954 to Edwin R. Seace Sr. and the late Pauline G. (Barth) Seace. Loving wife of George Swartz married January 31, 1976, loving mother of Jason and Janine, magnificent friend and was called mom by many other children. Her house and heart was always open to any child. She had a huge heart and always wanted to help neighbors, friends and family. She heartened many children through School bus driving, Girl Scouts, Scouting for Food, Manheim FFA and Venture Crew.
She graduated from Manheim Township High School in the class of 1973. Shirley was a dedicated school bus driver for 28 years for Groff Inc. and had worked various other jobs including Smoker and Company, Carolyn’s Notary, Cope’s Plumbing, Lancaster Airport Authority, Warwick Township Administration, Atlantic Breeders Co-op, Dr. Orlando Dentistry, Miles Shoes and Edelson Equine Associates. Shirley also spent time volunteering with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Warwick District Scouting for Food, Lancaster Aero Club, Lititz Garden Club, Manheim FFA and PA Equine Council. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, sewing, crafts, traveling and camping. Shirley was a passionate horse owner of 31 years. She enjoyed traveling in the U. S. and Canada, especially to destinations in western North America, with her husband and children. She was preceded in death by her brother Edwin R. Seace Jr. and survived by brothers George R. Seace (Mildred), William R. Seace and Walter R. Seace (Gina) all of Lititz.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange St., Lititz, PA, on Saturday, July 27
th
at 11:00 am, with Rev. James R. Gable, Jr. officiating. Family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
