On the morning of March 9, 2015, Stanley W. “Stan” Ginder, 98, peacefully passed away of natural causes at Calvary Fellowship Homes, Lancaster, PA.   He was comforted by family members and the staff at Calvary Homes.

Stan was born in West Hempfield, Lancaster County, PA on October 13, 1916. He was the fifth of six children to Emma (Gibble) and Herman S. Ginder.

Stanley married Dorothy Gable from Tyrone PA on October 16, 1937 in Lancaster. They were married for 61 years until her passing in 1999. He later married Lois (Brain) Turello on November 23 2002.

He had several occupations during his life – draftsman, contractor, and salesman.  Stan won several sales awards during his tenure in sales.  He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Penn State fan.

Stan was educated in the East Hempfield schools in Lancaster.  He was a past member of Calvary Independent Church and currently a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.  In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and bowling.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Stan is survived by his daughters, Joyce E., wife of John Clevenstine, and Carole A., wife of Barry Swartz; his sons, David L., husband of Susan Ginder, and Daniel L., husband of Nancy Ginder; and  his step-son, Daniel Turello; along with 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Dorothy, he was predeceased by his grandson, David Swartz; his brothers, Herman G. and Claude R. Ginder; and sisters, Mildred A. Ginder, Myrtle Wolgemuth, and Margaret Brubaker.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Fellowship Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster PA on Friday, March 13

th

at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Dr. Michael Rogers officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the Memorial Service.

The family will attend a private burial service at the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, PA.
