Stephen J. Cooper

Stephen J. Cooper, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Born in Northeast Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Martin and Ruth (Cohen) Cooper. He is survived by his sister, Robin Henkin (Allen). “Coop,” as he was affectionately known, attended the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science prior to enlisting in the military. He was proud of his service to his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a great salesman, having been in the paper and printing industry for decades. He also enjoyed sports and discussing politics.

Steve was loved by his dear wife, Beverly (Williams), his beloved children Stephanie (Donald), Chad (Sonya), and Shelby; as well as his adoring grandchildren Kaitlin, Matthew, Hans, Mary Kate, Lily, Mia, and Zachary. He will be missed by many.

A military burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Road in Annville, PA 17003 on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. (please plan to arrive to the cemetery by 1:30 p.m.)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Coop’s name to the US Department of Veteran Affairs.
