Susan J. “Susie” Fawber

Susan J. “Susie” Fawber, 72, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.  Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Jane (Mehl) Ziegler.  She was the wife of the late Warren “Pud” Fawber, who passed away in 2007.  They were married for 44 wonderful years.

Susan was a 1960 graduate of McCaskey High School, where she was very active in organizing the class reunions.  She received her RN degree from York Hospital School of Nursing and worked many years as a nurse in Family Practice, until retiring in 2007.  She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her many cruises to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii.  She also looked forward to summer vacations spent at Ocean City, MD.

She is survived by her children, Kim, wife of Dave Diffenbaugh, Brian, fiancé to Holly Sheesley, and Mike, husband of Heather; five grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, Zach, Jenna and Karly; and two great-grandchildren, Rhylee and Jayce.  She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Shawn Diffenbaugh.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Ronnette Comfort-Butler officiating.  A viewing will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in her name can be made to: Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
