Suzanne M. Mccomsey

Suzanne M. McComsey, 81, of Lancaster, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was the wife of the late John “Mike” McComsey who died in 2008.  Her first husband, the late George Swinehart, Jr. died in 1998.  Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Suzanne Kostura Mowrer.

Mrs. McComsey was a LPN and had spent most of her working career as a private duty nurse.  She was of the Catholic faith.  Suzanne was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.  Her interests included crocheting, horses, playing pinochle, and following the Phillies.   She looked forward to going out for dinner with family members and shopping.

Surviving are four daughters, Linda S. wife of Roy D. Sheppard of East Petersburg, Deborah A. Wade of Lancaster, Georgianne wife of Elwood L. Klugh, Jr. of Lancaster, and Mary L. Urban of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and a brother Claude J. “Ted” husband of Julia Mowrer of Lancaster.  She was preceded in death by a son William Swinehart and by 2 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Interment in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
