Suzanne Marie Steiner, a resident of Calvary Fellowship Homes in Lancaster and formerly from Pittsburgh departed from this life on March 3rd, 2016. She was born on March 27th, 1937 in Batavia, New York. Suzanne is survived by her sister Arlene Volk of Lancaster and her brother Alan Lebwohl-Steiner of Garrison, New York. Suzanne graduated from Batavia High School, Rochester Institute of Technology, and from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art where she received her Master of Fine Arts Degree. For over 30 years Suzanne taught art at Carlow University in Pittsburgh sharing her love and passion for art with her many students, and was also an independent artist creating works of art that were exhibited and sold in Pittsburgh galleries. Over the years she created a wide variety of artwork, but in her later life she specialized in fiber arts and bead work. She was an active supporter of the Cancer Caring Center and also taught art classes there for survivors to aid their recovery. A service to celebrate Suzanne’s life will be held Tuesday, April 5th at Calvary Fellowship Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster at 2:00 pm. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Calvary Fellowship Home Benevolence Fund.
