Tommie Lou Smith Bohn

Tommie Lou Smith Bohn, 87, of Lancaster went to Heaven on November 21, 2013 after a lengthy illness at The Glen at Willow Valley. She was the wife of the late Robert Allen Smith and the late Gilbert Lovett Bohn. Born Tommie Lou deHoll in Ashland Ky., she was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Hallie (Lanter) deHoll.

Tommie Lou enjoyed spending time with her family, exploring new restaurants with her “Dinner Buddies” and Saturday movie nights with her girlfriends. She was an accomplished tole painter and avid reader.

Formerly of Levittown and Yardley, she moved to Lancaster in 1993. She summered in Cape May Ct. House, NJ.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Levittown/Fairless Hills, the First UMC of Cape May Ct. House and Grace Church at Willow Valley.

She was a past president of the Levittown-Lower Bucks Chapter of the AAUW. She was also a member of the Washington Crossing Chapter of the DAR.

Tommie Lou served as a mission volunteer with Beyond Borders in Haiti in 1989.

She was a graduate of Palmyra High School (NJ) and received a B.S. in Home Economics from Drexel University in 1948.

Tommie Lou is survived by sons Douglas A. Smith (Jeannette) of Annandale, VA ,  Scott D. Smith (Andrea) of Lancaster, PA and daughter Tommie Lou Judson (Jeffrey) of  Flemington, NJ; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 stepchildren, 13 step grandchildren;  a brother, Michael deHoll (Gwen) of Schnecksville, PA  and a sister Nancy Fernwalt (Jack) of Kennedyville, MD. Tommie Lou was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ted deHoll (Delores) of Salem, OR  and  John deHoll (Sandy) of Wilmington, NC.

A Memorial service for Tommie Lou will be held on Saturday, November 30

th

. Family visitation will begin at 10:AM with the service beginning at 11:00 AM at the Willow Valley Manor North Johnson Auditorium, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster PA 17602.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fellowship Fund, Willow Valley Manor North at the above address.
