Velma J. Quigley, 91, of Lancaster, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care.
She was the wife of the late Fred Quigley who died in 1993. Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Emma Fern Robinson Martin.
Velma was a homemaker and had also worked at Hamilton Watch during World War II. She was a member of the Son Light Bible Church and a graduate of the former West Lampeter Township High School. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and traveling. Velma spent 21 years as a Red Cross Volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital and 8 years as a volunteer at the Landis Valley Museum.
Surviving are two sons, Fred E. husband of Elaine Quigley of Brownstown, and Donald W. husband of Gloria Quigley of Lee, NH; a daughter, Janet S. wife of Tom Benjamin of Lititz; seven grandchildren, Sharon, David, Daniel, Erin, and Jacob Quigley, and Joshua and Kristin Benjamin; two great grandchildren, Colin and Scott Quigley; and a brother, Eugene husband of Nancy Martin of Lititz. She was preceded in death by brothers, Nevin, Quentin, Clair, Donald, and Robert Martin and by a sister Nancy Hoerger.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Son Light Bible Church, 2503 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA with Pastor Michael Nolt officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Byerland Mennonite Cemetery.
