Verna M. Lefever, 93, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Garden Spot Villages. She was the loving wife of the late Frank H. Lefever to whom she was married to for 47 years before his death in 2003.
Born in Lancaster, PA., she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Christiana (Shaub) Walker.
She worked as a carburizer for RCA for 39 years after retiring in 1985.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the organ, crocheting, gardening, doing puzzles and taking care of her two dogs Tiko and Pandy. She also volunteered at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church’s Food Bank for over 9 years where she was also a member for 79 yrs.
She is survived by a sister, Jane Smoker (wife of Lee) of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 4 sisters; Dorothy Forrest, Mildred Brandt, Florence Rineer and Ruth Pfautz; and 6 brothers, Charles, Earl, Kirk, Harold, Richard, and Elwood Walker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Arthur Rettew officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
