Vincent Joseph Moresco, passed away on July 5, 2024 at the age of 91 in Lancaster, PA.
He was the beloved husband of Gail (nee McNulty), beloved brother-in-law of K. Jill Skinner (nee McNulty), brother of Lena Scuderi (nee Moresco). He was the beloved father of Thomas, (wife Mary Anne), Mary Sanchirico (nee Moresco, husband Paul) and James (wife Eva Marie). He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a large, loving family. He is predeceased by his daughter, Susan (Horvat/Kelliher nee Moresco) and brother Maurice.
Vincent was born in 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, where he spent his childhood. He played baseball in his youth, which is how he would eventually meet his lifelong sweetheart, Gail, whom he married in 1954. After graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, he studied at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. From 1952 to 1956 he served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Vulcan. He worked long, hard hours, often working multiple jobs, to support his children to pursue college. In his long career, he was an industrial engineer involved in the production of a wide range of products including pharmaceuticals, library shelves and slot cars. As manufacturing opportunities declined, he joined the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier.
He lived in Brooklyn, NY until 1961, when he moved to Westbury on Long Island. In 1977, he moved to Gettysburg, PA. In 1986, he moved to NJ, settling in Jackson, for many years. His final years were enjoyed in Lancaster, PA where he was a practicing Roman Catholic and parishioner at St. John Neumann Church. He enjoyed watching the New York Giants football team, bowling, piecing together puzzles and spending time with family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 9th 2024 at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Anne’s Retirement Community Benevolent Fund, 3952 Columbia Ave, Columbia, PA 17512.
