Violet F. Erb, 94, a resident of Landis Homes Retirement Community, died Sunday, January 6, 2013.
She was the wife of the late Martin Erb. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver N. and Alma Stief Forrey.
Violet had retired from the former Landis Poultry. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework and crocheting. Many of the items she made she donated to the Mennonite Central Committee. Violet enjoyed traveling with her late husband and was known for the spoons she collected around the United States.
Violet had resided in Sun City, AZ for 21 years prior to moving to Landis Homes. She was a member of the Neffsville Mennonite Church.
Surviving is a stepson, James Erb; and two stepdaughters, Nancy Blum and Sue Erb; seven step grandchildren; and eight step great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Jay and Warren Forrey and by sisters, Marie Risser and Helen Moyer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the East Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA. Friends may call at Landis Homes on Friday from 2:30 P.M. until the time of the service.
