Virginia C. “Sammy” Boyd
Virginia C. “Sammy” Boyd, 90, of Lancaster and formerly of Bluewell & Bramwell WV., went to see her Lord on Thursday , December 29, 2016 at Mt. Joy Hospice.
Born on October 19, 1926 in McComas WV., she was a daughter of the late Everett Reeves & Mary Alagria Coburn Cox. She had lived most of her life in WV, and the last 8 years in Lancaster. She attended Grace Baptist Church on Marietta Avenue in Lancaster and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Boyd, who served in WW II; and a son Everett Darrell “Butch” Boyd.
Survivors include her daughter , Nancy Boyd Lanier and husband Randy of Landisville, grandchildren Darrell Boyd of Gloucester NJ, Brian Lanier & Tracy Lanier Helm, Lancaster, Molly Boyd England & Misty Boyd, Bluefield WV., and her great granddaughters who were her pride and joy, Alexandra, & Bailey Helm, Lancaster.
Friends & Relatives are respectfully invited to her Memorial Service on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church 1899 Marietta Ave. Lancaster PA 17603, you may greet her family starting at 12:30 p.m. at the church.
