Virginia M. Bruce
Virginia M. Bruce, 88, formerly of Lancaster, a resident of the Pleasant View Retirement Community, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014.
She was the wife of the late Charles Bruce who died in 2006 and the late Rockford Leed who died in 1986. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elam M. and Estella R. Kopf Royer.
Virginia retired from KD Tool Co. She attended the Chapel Services at Pleasant View and enjoyed baking, gardening, embroidering and singing.
Surviving are two sons, Larry husband of Linda Leed of Willow Street, and Steven husband of Penny Leed of Quarryville; seven daughters, Gloria wife of Paul Keperling of Lancaster, Virginia Smith of Willow Street, Shirley wife of Ken Hougentogler of Lancaster, Joan wife of Roy Shertzer of Lancaster, Judy McMellen of Lancaster, Connie wife of Charles Quigley of Hampton, VA, and Denise wife of Dale Mummau of Lancaster; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren , and one great great granddaughter; two brothers, Stephen Royer of Conestoga, and Marlin Royer of South Carolina; two sisters, Ruth Strother of Ephrata, and Kathryn Potts of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a grandson Rick Helm, by a great grandson James Zook and by siblings, Louis Royer, Gloria Dearolf, and Edward Royer.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, PA with Chaplain Ginny Hartman officiating. Friends may call at Pleasant View on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to the Pleasant View Benevolent Fund, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
