Walter F.”Jupe” Schleenbaker, 86, of Wickshire Circle, Lititz, formerly of Englewood, FL, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Walter F., Sr. and Florence Bowman Schleenbaker. He was married 68 years to Miriam Long Schleenbaker.
Along with his family, Walter was part owner and operator of the National Novelty Brush Company, Lancaster. He later sold real estate. During WWII, he served in the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1946. Known as “Paw-Paw” to his family, he was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed fishing. He was also a member of the Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his daughter, Beverly, wife of Ernest W. Lindquist of Lititz; 2 grandchildren, Kerri, wife of Eric Heckel and Gregory, husband of Paula Misenko, both of Lititz; 4 great grandchildren, Nick, Logan, and Tanner Heckel, and Lukas Misenko; 1 brother, Stanley husband of Margie Schleenbaker of Aspin, TN.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Jack Schleenbaker.
