Warren B. Hambleton, Jr., died peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim, PA. Born in Ronks, he was the son of the late Warren, Sr. and Marie Shue Hambleton. He was widowed from Jean, his wife of 50 years in 2001. Two sisters, Ruth and Miriam, predeceased him.

After graduating from East Lampeter High School in 1949, he worked for Oblender’s Furniture Store in Lancaster and served in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War. Mr. Hambleton then worked for many years at Specialty Screw Machine Products in Lancaster, retiring in 1996.

A member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Mr. Hambleton was an active member of the church choir and the Lancaster Chamber Singers. He shared his gift of singing at many weddings and was known for his powerful tenor voice. He was an accomplished watercolorist and his paintings of local historical sites grace the walls of friends and family. He also loved tending his yard and traveling to New England and the Jersey shore.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Lynne, married to Charles Perella of Intercourse, PA and Tracey J. Hambleton, with her partner, Diana Batzel of Marshfield, VT; a son Scott B., married to Kathryn Hambleton of Lebanon and four grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held in the Hoffer Auditorium of Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Rd., Manheim, PA on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a time for family visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
