Bill ended his earthly journey on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at his beloved Ephrata Manor and entered the next phase of our journey to join his family and many friends.
He was born August 16, 1920, in Rutherglen in his native Scotland to the late William and Margaret (Barr) Hamilton. He proudly served in the British Army in World War II and became an American citizen in 1953. A printer by trade for 38 years, he was also a professional Scottish singer. He attended and sang in many local churches.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wives, Betty and Marion; his son, Iain Hamilton; and his daughter-in-law, Sandra, as well as three brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his grandson, Scott Hamilton, and Scott’s wife, Maria, and beloved great-grandson Anthony Joseph – the pride of his life – as well as several nieces and nephews in Scotland, including his dear niece Jean McBride. He is also survived by many friends and loved ones, especially his friends Nancy Hook and Shauna Irvin, and his companion caregiver, Ruth Miller, who was blessed immensely by knowing him.
A very special thank you to the entire staff of Ephrata Manor, especially Heather Brand and Kathy Dyabelko.
