William J. “Bill” Bennett, 86, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, August 20, 2015
at Lancashire Hall. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Jane (Jasper) Bennett. Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late William P. and Blanche (Gilger) Bennett. After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, Bill spent much of his career in sales and then in his retirement years he enjoyed working at the Lancaster County Visitors Bureau. Bill had quite a sense of humor and was usually the life of the party. He enjoyed bus trips with his wife in years past, vacationing at Cape May and carving duck decoys. He was devoted to his family and his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster. He is survived by his two daughters, Michele A. Brubaker (wife of Todd) of Mount Joy, PA and Kathleen B. Kambic (wife of Tom) of Fort Myers, FL. Also surviving is his granddaughter Emily Brubaker.
