William W. Mann

William W. Mann, 91, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Moravian Manor on September 5th, 2024. He was the husband of Marjorie King Mann with whom he would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on September 17th.

Born in Reedsville, PA, he was the son of the late James H. Mann and M. Evelyn (Eckenbarger) Mann. Bill graduated from Derry Township  High School and The Pennsylvania State University in 1956 with a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering.

At the time of his retirement, Bill was employed by Sperry Ford New Holland for 35 years. He is the holder of several patents. Bill was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

Some of his interests included fly fishing, hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed taking day trips to the mountains with his family. Bill was known for his storytelling; always bringing warmth, laughter and a positive outlook to every room he entered and leaving behind a legacy of humor and joy to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Marjorie, Bill is survived by his daughter, Kimbra Schaefer (David) of Millersville and his son  Douglas (Annette) of Mount Joy. Bill had 3 granddaughters, Lauren Dissinger, Casei Hatley, and Kristen Schaefer. Great-grandchildren include Stella Mann, Paislee Hatley, Colton, Cameron and Connor Dissinger and another great granddaughter due in December.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tracey DeGreen and Dr. Keith Beaulieu for many years of compassionate caregiving.

A memorial service will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 on Tuesday, October 1st. 2024 at 11:30 am. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30-11:30 am.
