William A. Rineer, 89, formerly of Rohrerstown, a resident of Oak Leaf Manor, Landisville, died Saturday, May 31, 2014. He was the husband of the late Thelma Rankin Rineer who died in 1975. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Amos B. and Anna S. Breneisen Rineer. William retired as a machinist from RCA in 1984 where he had worked for 32 years. He was a 1941 graduate of East Hempfield Twp. High School. William served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Walter F. Ebersole American Legion Post #185 in Mount Joy. William enjoyed sports, especially following the Phillies, auto racing and football. Early in life he had obtained his private pilot’s license. Surviving is a daughter, Denice wife of Thomas Zucca of Vineland, NJ. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law and many treasured nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, A. Hunter Rineer, Frederick B. Rineer, George W. Rineer, Henry G. Rineer, Kerwin R. Rineer, Robert E. Rineer, Thelma M. Rineer, Violet J. Shanbarger. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment with military honors in Riverview Burial Park.
