William T. Pfautz, Sr.

William T. Pfautz, Sr., 91, of Lancaster, PA died on January 17, 2017 at Brethren Village Retirement Community.  He was the husband of Lucy Sebastian Pfautz whom he married in 1950.

Born in Lancaster, PA., he was the son of the late Martin M. Pfautz, Sr. and Nellie Barlow Pfautz.

William was a member of the class of 1943 at Manheim Township High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and graduated from advanced pilot training in 1945 at Napier Field in Dothan AL.  He was a member of the Air Force Reserves until 1962 and was honorably discharged with the rank of captain.

In addition to his wife Lucy, he is survived by his children, William T. Pfautz, Jr., (husband of Barbara) of East Petersburg, PA; Douglas S. Pfautz, (husband of Donna) of Landisville, and Mary Lou Ault (wife of Michael) of Lancaster; grandchildren, Melissa A. Ault of Philadelphia, Mason M. Ault of Lancaster, Kelsey N. Miller (wife of Cole) of Columbia, SC and Ethan D. Pfautz of Landisville; and a great-grandson, Hunter Michael (son of Mason M. Ault).  Also surviving are his brothers, Martin M. Pfautz (husband of Arlene) of Myerstown and Arthur S. Pfautz (husband of Eleanor) of Glenmoore.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, January 27, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Brethren Village Retirement Community, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  A private graveside service will occur at Neffsville Lutheran Cemetery.
