Yvonne M. “Vonnie” Rutter

Yvonne “Vonnie” Rutter, 82, of Lancaster, passed away on May 28, 2022. Born in Quarryville, she was the youngest daughter of the late Jack and Delores (Engel) Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Wike (wife of Jeffrey) of Lancaster, and her sister, Patsy Book (widow of Sherman), of Lititz. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alene Depue and brother, Jack Jones Jr.
She graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1957 and attended Millersville University. She was a member of the Lancaster Women’s Club for several decades and enjoyed puppet shows, card club, and craft nights. She participated in many volunteer activities with Women’s
Club and the bank prior to retirement.
As a full-time working Mom, her daughter was always a priority. She was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader, drove her daughter to weekly dance and piano lessons, and was an adult chaperone for the high school marching band.
She retired in 2005 after working 30 years in the trust department at what is now Wells Fargo Bank. She enjoyed reading mysteries and romance, crafting (especially angels), completing puzzles, playing pinochle, baking Christmas cookies, seeing shows at the Fulton, and collecting elephants.
She loved her dogs—Biff, Josh, and Andy. And most recently her grand dog, Zoe.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Yvonne’s memory to the Fulton Opera House or the Humane League of Lancaster County.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
